Johor Trip...

A bunch of NUS peeps went down to Johor, invited by Malaysian Tourism Bourd to view a spectacular event. It was amazing to see Malaysians being so loyal..

I started out the trip stuck in a mass motorcycle traffic jam at the Woodlands checkpoint. Well can't really blame the immigration department yah cos i came at the wrong time. Blergh...

Anyway reach Hyatt Johor at around 7.10...I took about 10 mins of looking around and asking around to find the PBMUKS folks..Rabak seh..tak pack kan Nasi..haha...ok at least they pack the cakes for me...

Later we took the bus to can't remember what's the beach name..i think it was Banga Bay..hmm. Practically there was a carnival and stages were built for the performances. It was to kick start the celebrations for the Malaysian National Day...

Somehow i wondered for a while..isn't their National Day on the 31th Aug...guess the country is so big and they might have a few places to celebrate and Johor is only the starting point..I'm not really sure..just guessing yah..OK whatever...

well were supposed to be allocated seats..but i think we reach there late and with little guidance from the tour guide..we sort of unsure where to be. Instructions were confusing but eventually we manage to get seats under the tent and watch a multicultural performances..

During the show I was telling Ahmad (was it...gosh my brains are really screwed..cant really remember names for nuts) that Malaysia aint really that much difference from Singapore..see they have the same multicultural society except that they have more Malays and we have more Chinese.

I bought 3 drinks and was given a basket for free..kind of weird promotion..hmm i think i have a use for that basket..for ROC.

Toilet? Where are toilets yah? Didn't really see a mobile toilet around....

The itenary mention that we are suppose to leave at 11pm and have supper but we skipped that cos it was already very late..

OKlah had fun overall and a new xperience indeed yah even though they are hiccups here and there..I just love this imperfect world...

The malaysian people were very enthusiastic..Is it because like National Day?? people only get excited only at this time..hmmm probably, maybe...but somehow the aura was there..i could feel the loyalty of the people to the country...At least once a year we become loyal not so bad yah...

We should have more of this..hehe..it creates cohesion and builds trust in our members...

Last and not least..MERDEKA !!!
